Storage Product Specialist

To meet the needs created by our strategic growth, we are looking for a Storage Product Specialist for our team focusing on Dell Storage solutions.
The Storage Product Specialist role includes pre-sales technical support activities. The Storage Product Specialist must have the strong ability to work consultatively with our clients to develop comprehensive Dell Storage solutions based on detailed analysis of their business and technical requirements. This includes gathering key requisite business and technical information, developing Storage architecture, and designing, implementing and configuring Storage products.
The Storage Product Specialist should have the ability to:
• Provide training/consulting to both sales team and customers using advanced technical knowledge of leading storage products,
• Design product configurations to meet solution requirements.
• Develop and deliver professional and effective demonstrations of storage products by:
• Assisting Sales Representatives with customer calls as needed to provide product expertise.
• Partnering with the sales force to achieve quota in all product lines by creating the buying preference for recommended products.
• Providing technical depth to the sales process by assessing customer needs, identifying and recommending solutions, and presenting and differentiating technologies.
• Presenting information on storage products and solutions that address technologies, competitive differentiators, configuration considerations, and performance
• Sharing timely technical information with sales partners and key end-user accounts.
• Conducting site surveys and using data generated to identify product requirements and prepare solution documentation.
• In conjunction with other members of the sales team, performing storage product demonstrations. Excellent knowledge of competitive products may be required to successfully address customer questions
• Assisting the sales team in transferring product and prospect knowledge to post-implementation team to ensure seamless hand-off of project.
• Working with the sales team to provide strategic direction and tactical execution on accounts to maximize overall sales opportunity.
• Maintaining an active presence in the industry through professional associations relationships.
• Attending trade-shows to address product questions and serve as a technical resource on supported products.
• Maintaining Technical Certification in area of specialty
• Provide technical consulting solutions and support to our clients via services delivery including (but not limited to):
• Installation of hardware systems
• Installation of software systems and packages
• Performing system transitions including hardware/software upgrades
• Performing system integration tasks
• Providing skills transfer to customers
• Troubleshooting customer systems
• Reviewing/recommending system design and implementation
• System operations
• Performing environment assessments
• Providing documentation of assessment findings and/or technical tasks completed
• In-depth functional understanding of area of specialty, to include:
o Bachelor’s degree in a computer or business related field or equivalent industry experience
o Current technical certification in relevant storage technologies preferred, or ability to obtain quickly upon hire
o Strong current technical knowledge of leading vendor storage solutions, such as IBM, EMC, NetApp, Dell or similar.
o Previous technical presales experience strongly preferred, with presales experience around relevant storage solutions strongly preferred.
o Ability to effectively interact with and gather information from high-level managers and executives
o Ability to prioritize tasks and deliver projects on time
o Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet and diagram products (such as Visio)
o Excellent formal presentation skills before both small and large groups.
o Strong analysis skills to successfully match client needs to appropriate product lines
o Requires strong interpersonal skills, along with good written and verbal communication necessary to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external customers.
o Ability to travel upwards of 75%.
o Currently eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
