Job Description: The Summer Intern responsibilities include:
Writing Shell Scripts
Assist in day to day ad hoc job executions
Code from specs to implement changes to programs, docu-texts
Create test data and execute to validate program and job changes
Work with support groups to ODBI issues, software upgrades
Update, investigate and close HDFS cases as needed
The summer intern will be working with the ODBI application. The On-Demand Billing Application (ODBI) is used to load customer invoices, CSV files, XML files and Billing related reports to a repository. From this repository they are presented to the Customer for payments, adjustments, etc. The ODBI system uses an IBM content manager tool running on LINUX/UNIX servers.
Candidate must be at least a Junior studying in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline. The candidate must have knowledge of programming C/C++, java and Microsoft office applications. Candidate must possess excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Viable candidates must be currently enrolled in a 4-year degreed college/university program while working at UPS during the summer. The viable candidate must be able to work 32-40 hours per week May – Aug 2012.

Education: The desired Intern will be working toward a 4-year degree in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics or related discipline.

U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.
