We are seeking experienced Switch Technicians and Senior Switch Technicians in our Philadelphia Regional area location! This position offers a broader scope of work responsibilities than many similar positions at our competitors, including the ability to learn and grow professionally within the organization.
Position Summary
Provided installation and maintenance of switching and transmission equipment within an MSC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintenance of Lucent 5ESS Digital Cellular Switch, Executive Cellular Processor, CDMA Network daily operations
Perform OMP, ECP, 5ESS, Any Path Voice Mail, Tellabs 5500 3/1/0 system software updates and hardware additions
Programs and troubleshoots switch translations and routing and knowledge of IPBH a plus
UNIX administration, UNIX scripting support for equipment additions, trouble shooting and reporting Work with Field Engineering team on installation and maintenance of 4.0B Mod Cellsites
Perform T1 acceptance testing and turn up
Work with various vendors to turn up and test facilities interface transmission equipment.
Requirements:
Qualifications
To be considered for a Switch Technician role, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:
Associates degree in related field or equivalent experience/education
2 years of related experience in the telecommunications industry; prior wireless industry experience is preferred
Candidates who are interested in a Senior Switch Technician role must also meet the following qualifications:
At least 4 years of related experience in the telecommunications industry; prior wireless industry experience is preferred
Able to provide leadership and training to the other Switch Technicians
