System Administrator 2\3
System Administrator for the Space Based Space Surveillance (SBSS) Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) organization. This individual will provide system administration for Operations and Maintenance of the SBSS Ground System including support to system integration, hardware and software installation and configuration and disposition of servers and workstations. Provides support for the design, validation and implementation of changes to computing delivery systems. Performs system monitoring and backup and restore procedures to ensure system and data availability. This individual will perform product and component analysis and management to ensure technical viability and cost-effectiveness from requirements through implementation and support. Use technical expertise to help internal and external users by answering technical questions regarding the usage, trouble-shooting and functionality of system products to ensure effective implementation and usage. Apply knowledge of computing systems to choose appropriate troubleshooting techniques to resolve complex, escalated systems problems. Work with appropriate product supplier for enhancements and issues not resolved in-house. Choose appropriate computing products and methods to ensure requirements are met for security, problem management, capacity/performance management and operational management. Document resolutions/analyses according to support procedures.

Typical Education/Experience
Level 2 - Technical bachelor's degree and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study. Level 3 - Technical bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
Other Job related information
Candidate will support Schriever AFB, CO and Boeing Inverness facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado locations. Position requires a current TS/SCI Access; US Citizenship Required or equivalent (Refer to Security Clearance Definitions link above). Applicants MUST include their security clearance level, investigation type and investigation date clearly in their resume. The position is contingent on contract award from the DoD customer. The position is contingent upon clearance verification and program/customer concurrence. Strong Linux and Sun Solaris system administration skills, knowledge of storage array configuration and optimization and strong VMWare or other virtualization experience is required. Other desired skills and experience include system monitoring and optimization, experience with remote administration and use of cryptographic devices.
