Title: System Analyst Location: United States-Connecticut-Hartford Other Locations: The System Analyst has overall responsibility for end-to-end lead system analysis activities for commercial software implementations providing expert subject matter and technical expertise to all internal teams as well as business clients throughout the software development life cycle.
Responsibilities include: * Provide Analytical Support for solution development and system changes * Provide comprehensive system level consultation to business ** * Prepare business requirement documentation * Determine data, data structures and system requirements * Prepare flow charts to describe existing and proposed business process workflow and system needs * Work with internal and external customers to identify and specify business requirements and processes * Analyze and define requirements needed for system impact and prepare documentation and/or specifications * Prepare specifications for enhancement, development and problem requests * Provide project leadership and/or management for large/complex projects * Develop ideas to automate manual processes and create efficiencies. * Conduct and assist specification walkthroughs * Maintain and modify line of business and other system documentation * Effectively communicate with internal and external clients * Provide feedback to management (Line of Business Manager, Project Manager, Account Executive, etc.) on issues with projects and/or accounts * Participate in meetings/conference calls with internal and external clients * Work with client management to identify and specify industry needs * Research and evaluate alternative approaches and recommend efficient and cost effective solutions * Guide client and internal functional areas as appropriate through the development (enhancements, conversions, defects, etc.) testing and installation processes and manage client expectations * Identify and provide improvements to the system * Develop test strategies/complex test plans * Design system test plans to ensure a quality solution * Conducts focus testing and document results for individual log changes * Work directly with internal functional areas and clients to identify and resolve problems during testing * Support company-wide testing efforts Internal/external Client Support * Assist in planning, organizing and controlling the activities of team members. Provide guidance to team members * Provide training to clients as needed * Provide group facilitation, interviewing, training and additional forms of knowledge transfer as a method of mentoring business analysts and senior business analyst vide sales and marketing support (demos, presentations, etc.) Experience & Training: 5 - 7 years insurance and/or enterprise systems experience Familiar with Property/Casualty Manuals /Auto
Use of Microsoft Office suite of products Experience in a web / client server environment
