System Engineer (ADSI) - DIRECT LABOR
Provide Systems Engineering support, as part of a Government-led team, for the Air Defense System Integrator (ADSI) / Mission Systems.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain the Air Defense System Integrator/Mission Systems, including providing support for installation, integration, configuration, testing, operation, maintenance, and security for ADSI and associated Command and Control (C2) system interfaces.
- Provide ADSI system support and training for mission programs that interface with ADSI in order to ensure the most reliable Common Operational Picture (COP) for the customer.
- Coordinate with the Datalinks Manager and Joint Interface Control Officer to provide technical support for datalink interfaces and to provide an accurate and consolidated air picture.
- Monitor ADSI and interface systems and ensure they operate within OPTASK LINK specified parameters; take action to resolve connectivity and interoperability issues; and keep the government customer informed.
- Provide reliable and effective data flow in support of the COP air picture, and coordinate with COP administrators and operators to ensure that data is displayed accurately in the COP.
- Maintain a clear and accurate datalink air picture, monitor track data exchange for accuracy, take action to resolve interface data conflicts, and manage participating site interface entry and exit.
- Coordinate and manage data filtering, and implement approved changes.
- Maintain current Air Tasking Orders (ATOs) for Areas of Operations (AOs) directed by Joint Air Operations Center (JAOC).
- Load and correlate ATOs with the air picture, ensuring that callsigns are properly displayed.
- Load COMSEC into datalink equipment under government supervision.
- Provide LINK 16 technical advice, equipment integration, systems development and testing under the guidance of the unit Operations Director.
- Assist in the development of Special Operations Forces Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) for ADSI operations.
- Provide system engineering plans for data link networks by introducing solutions to solve unusual or novel requirements requiring similarly untried or unique procedures.
- Support change control for data link and ADSI systems to maintain interoperability with system interfaces and COMSEC hardware and software.
- Provide technical support for configuration of and operator training on aviation mission systems, including Cursor on Target (CoT), TACVIEW, and VTC/Audio Visual displays.
Education, Training and Certification:
- B.S. degree in engineering or technical field may be substituted with an appropriate level of technical training and experience on a case-by-case basis.
- Appropriate DoDD 8570.01 Information Assurance certification required.
- Formal military training and certification on ADSI and C2 systems preferred.
Experience:
- Lead system engineer position requires a minimum of 10 years experience in C2 systems administration and engineering.
- Hands on experience with ADSI, Link 16, CoT, TacView, and situational awareness applications such as GCCS, C2PC, FalconView required.
Additional Requirements:
- Current Top Secret clearance with SCI access required.
- This position may require shift and weekend work.
- This position may require limited travel to CONUS locations.
