Description
The SA 3 must have experience in UNIX. The SA 3 must have experience in Active Directory/Exchange. The SA 3 supervises all personnel engaged in the operation and support of the computer system(s) and peripheral equipment in large scale or multi-shift operations as well as monitors and controls one or more mid-range application servers (e.g., AS/400) by operating the central console or online terminals. The SA 3 supervises complex operations that involve two or more additional functions such as but not limited to network operations, systems software support production support activities and electronic input or tape library activities. The SA 3 identifies processing requirements and schedules job streams for computer runs and is responsible for the security and routing of input and output data; problem isolation and restart/recovery; interpreting technical documentation standards; preparing documentation according to accepted standards; and interfacing with contractor and government personnel. The SA 3 knows and studies program operating instruction sheets to determine equipment setup and run operations. The SA 3 continuously observes the operation of the console panel, storage devices, printers, and the action of the console printer to monitor the system operation and determines the point of equipment or program failure. In the event of a system malfunction, the SA 3 confers with technical personnel (e.g., equipment/software vendors) and directs subordinate personnel in the appropriate course of action.
The SA 3 's additional duties include the writing, editing, or graphic presentation of technical information. The SA 3 must have knowledge of all applicable computer hardware configuration.
Educational Requirements: High school graduate or equivalent Experience Requirements: Five years of progressive experience in operating computer systems; including two years in management experience in a multi-shift environment.
Security Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI eligible
Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent, and five to seven years of related experience.
