This is a unique opportunity to provide your industry expertise in a progressive not-for-profit, mission-driven healthcare environment. In this role, you will design, install, administer, and optimize company servers, storage environments and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary. This includes ensuring the availability of client/server applications, configuring all new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing monitoring and management of the server environment. Where applicable, you will assist in overseeing the physical security, integrity, and safety of the data center/server farm. We are a large enterprise environment with 1200 servers with about 450 of those virtualized. We are seeking an individual with windows based server administration experience in a larger organization, but really prefer a well rounded System Administrator with a strong background in Citrix for this position. Other areas that would make a well rounded candidate would be to have some VMware/ESX, SAN/storage experience experience, or to have worked in an enterprise environment of at least a few hundred servers. Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience preferred
At least 5 years Windows based server equipment experience required
Experience with Windows 2003 and 2008 for O/S
Prior Citrix experience is strongly preferred
Prior VMware/ESX and SAN/Storage experience is preferred
Experience in server farms of >500 servers preferred
Experience in service with multiple server sites and data centers
Fluent with server builds and server processes
Experience with monitoring tools for server services, performance, and processes
Server backup/restore experience
Strong diagnostic skills for maintaining and troubleshooting issues
HP Server experience a plus
Experience with HIPPA, SOX, PCI or other regulatory requirements a plus
Moderate travel is a requirement
