Thomson Reuters Tax and Accounting is looking for an experienced Systems Administrator to join their Customer Systems Team! The Systems Administrator position will be located in Ann Arbor, MI and will provide day to day support of the infrastructure supporting the WebServices product line operating at Thomson Reuters Data Centers in Eagan, MN, Atlanta, GA and Flint, MI. Working closely with the Thomson Reuters Data Center Operations teams and local development teams, the Customer Systems Administrator will help ensure the Web Services offerings are achieving stated objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Participates in the strategy, planning, and architecture of new server, networking, storage and advanced security solutions for all Web Services infrastructure. * Performs daily tasks relative to the operational support of all Web Services infrastructure. These tasks include monitoring, backup / restores, application availability, scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance. * Maintain effective working relationships with Thomson Reuters Data Center and Development staff. * Work directly with vendors on new hardware and software evaluations and implementations.
Secondary Responsibilities:
* Work to resolve technical issues escalated from other teams and / or Web Services Customers. * Respond to, and resolve alerts from server monitoring systems to ensure Web Services application availability 24 x 7. * Documentation of network and systems architecture and administrative processes. * Work with management to provide regular status reports. * Willingness to travel to Data Centers as needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience * 3 years experience performing Systems Administration on the Windows Server platform * Must have experience with one of the following; * Building and Implementing Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or newer * Building and Implementing Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 or newe * Networking (Cisco / BigIP)
* Must have experience working with implementing and maintaining clustered servers using Microsoft Clustering Services. * Experience delivering and supporting enterprise level web based applications to external customers. * A solid understanding of networking fundamentals such as DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls and WAN connections. * Excellent Communication Skills. * Experience with systems that connect to central storage devices, NAS or SAN. * Professional certifications such as MCSE or CCNA are a plus * Physically able to lift up to 70 lbs.
