Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Serves as a company authority in establishing procedures for the maintenance of data files and control procedures for a complex system of networked computers or for a single group of microcomputers linked to a host workstation, or mainframe. Responsible for system security and data integrity. Monitors and defines the use of resources, and works with management to define requests for information. Provides technical guidance to less experienced systems administrators. May work as a high level independent contributor or team leader.

Responsible for administering all aspects of an advanced, distributed computer system. Perform installations, maintenance, training and user support, as required. Plan and coordinate projects to meet future needs. Responsible for data flow, to include maintaining current data flow and establishing new data flows to support future needs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage multiple Windows based servers and workstations, (NT, 2000 and 2003), ensuring the proper integration of these components. Unix/Linux/Scripting/DBA and Web development experience a definite plus.

Plan and implement system security policy, to include firewalls, host and client access, file permissions and user accounts

Design and develop advanced methods and procedures for collecting, organizing, interpreting, and classifying data for input and/or retrieval

Install and debug new and/or upgraded software on servers

Research, evaluate, install, and configure all hardware, peripherals and equipment necessary to meet integrated systems objectives

Troubleshoot networks, servers, workstations, printers and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational issues

Develop and implement various training and instruction programs for users on the use of operating systems, networking, applications and databases

Maintain current knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems

Lead and guide the work of other staff engaged in similar functions

Required Qualifications:

This position requires a mature individual that is able to work well with others. The organization is a small functional unit, so close working relationships are a must. The knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position include:

Requires bachelor's degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and ten to twelve years of related experience.

Requires International relocation to a classified site in Asia

4+ years of hands-on experience with NT, 2000, XP and 2003. 4+ years of hands-on experience with Veritas BackUp Exec and McAfee

4+ years of hands-on experience with administering Exchange servers

Ability to troubleshoot issues pertaining to entire MS Office suite

Ability to plan, create, program and manage complex computer systems

Knowledge of data security and disaster recovery systems and procedures

Knowledge of a range of network systems, protocols, and applications

Knowledge and understanding of LAN/WAN administration

Ability to determine computer issues and coordinate hardware and/or software solutions

Knowledge of systems security protocol, policies, and procedures

Knowledge of data management techniques

Ability to plan, implement, test and troubleshoot system software/hardware

Desired Qualifications:

UNIX/LINUX scripting a plus.
