Duties and Responsibilities:
The Systems Administrator will support all aspects of network operating systems:
. PC and printer hardware/software configuration
. Troubleshoot network operational problems
. Train users on desktop and network software applications
. Assist the IT Manager in the maintenance and administration of network operating systems
. Configure desktop and notebook computers and additional devices on the network
. Install all computer software on desktop and notebook computers on the network
. Perform user help desk functions for resolving user problems with PC hardware, software, printers, and network connectivity
. Assist the IT Director in the maintenance and administration of local area networks, including resolving systems problems
. Assist the IT Director in the training and education of network and desktop applications
. Ensure all database backup procedures are adhered to and routinely verifies that system database backups are properly executed
. May provide technical assistance to other personnel in the IT department in the maintenance and support of wide area network, Internet communications and database applications
. Maintains an accurate inventory of all IT equipment
. Carries out other duties as required or assigned by supervisor
. Performs special projects on request
Qualifications:
. Bachelor's or equivalent experience in Computer Science
. 3yrs experience in technical maintenance of Active Directory
. Strong knowledge of Windows 2000, XP, Vista, and 7 clients, Windows 2003 Server, Microsoft SQL Server, MS Office and MS Exchange.
. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
. Must be willing to travel between DC and Germantown locations
. Excellent communication skills
. VMware and/or Sharepoint a plus
. Candidates must be available for on-call rotation and able to work after hours, weekends (5%) when necessary.
