Systems Analyst - Business ObjectsDeveloper is responsible for developing new applications per business requests as well as enhancing current production data gathering and reporting systems. A strong focus in Business Objects applications development is desired. The SA/BO Developer works with IT groups and others designer to develop applications that are used throughout the company for data analysis and reporting presented by the Business Analysts. Must be able to multi-task and work with different projects based upon scope and priority for the different needs of the business. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interact with the end users and business analysts, and tomanagement to gather application requirements.
Design and develop Business Objects applications based on user requirements.
Involved in designing new solutions and converting them into a technical design documents
Make modifications to the existing business systems based on gathered user and business requirements.
Integrate applications to company's Intranet and Internet sites.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline with an IT focus preferred (or equivalent work experience is required)
3 - 5 years technical development experience in Microsoft based environments and SQL data intensive structures
Display of natural progression from complex Microsoft Office functions and applications to understanding and using high level system tools to understand complex data structures and interactions.
Application experience needed in the following areas:
Microsoft Products Access, Excel, VBA, etc. (latest versions)
SQL Development 2008
Source Control using Visual SourceSafe
Business Objects products XIR2
Webi Design
Universe Design
Data Services
Xcelsius
Experience is desirable but not required in the following areas:
Source Control using Visual SourceSafe
Development of Windows Forms Applications
Experience is also desirable but not required in the following areas:
Development using Visual Studio
Management of IIS
Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to communicate with other developers and business users.
Ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques in a highly complex environment.
Ability to take ownership of projects and produce above expectations.
