Systems AnalystTitle: Systems Analyst Location: USA
The System Analyst works closely with the implementation teams and Teradata Engineering to develop automated tools that facilitate reducing the effort required to acquire data, build system interfaces, and work with demo data of the DCM applications. The System Analyst reports directly to the Teradata Demand Chain Management (DCM) Project Director
Work Environment:
Individuals in this role work closely with customers, Teradata DCM Solution Specialists, Business Consultants, Area Sales Director, Account Executives, and Pre-sale Technical Consultants. The ability to develop and coordinate within a cross-functional team environment will be critical to the success of this position. This position will be primarily virtual, working out of the candidate's residence and require significant travel to the customer's location, mainly in US and Canada. There is a local office in the area to provide administrative support.
Key Responsibilities :
. Exhibits good knowledge in both of the technical and business functional area of the Teradata DCM application, which includes application implementation, data validation, and production deployment. . Becomes the Teradata DCM application expert, with strong diagnostic and trouble shooting skill, which involved application written in advanced SQL languages (e.g. Macros, Stored Procedures, User Defined Functions, OLAP Functions, etc.), Linux scriptings, Java scriptings, Browser based GUI applications, Portlet applications, SQL tuning, etc. . Responsible to provide guidance / advice on best practices for Data Interfacing (aka DCM ETL) between client source data and DCM application utilizing Teradata SQL and Linux/UNIX scripting. . Develop and maintain the Teradata DCM PS Toolkit, which includes automation scripts to support PS field application implementation, such as standard DCM ETL scripts, forecast accuracy reporting tool, application performance analysis tool, DCM application proof of concept / fast-track tool, etc. . Provides technical pre-sales support to the Teradata account team related to the Teradata DCM application.

Application Experience with a focus on Merchandising/Category Management; Assortment Mgt; Promotion Mgt.; Supply/Demand Chain, Forecasting & Replenishment, experience in the Retail Industry (GMS and/or Food preferred). . Familiarity with the business processes and metrics that drive success in the retail and CPG industries. . A strong knowledge of leading edge application architecture issues, concerns, and methodologies affecting and driving the retail industry. . Knowledge and experience with application implementation methodologies and approaches. Basic Qualifications: . 5 years successful application experience - either with a retailer, software company, or consulting company in development, execution and maintenance of software in all of the following: . Very strong technical background in Javascript, Portlet and SQL coding . Strong background and application development / troubleshooting skill in MS-Windows, JAVA based, and UNIX / LINUX based Client Server Architecture applications, Web-based GUI, Visual Basic, SQL, Stored Procedure, Macro, User Defined Function, advanced HTML, ASP, Javascript, Visual Basic, COM/DCOM (ATL, VC ISAPI are assets), UNIX scripting, C, C preprocessor . Strong understanding of n-tier architecture theory and practice . Good knowledge of analytical statistics . Teradata SQL knowledge will be an asset . Teradata, MCSE or MCSD certification will be an asset . Knowledge of database connectivity tools, such as CLI and ODBC configuration . Knowledge of Data Warehouse tools (OLAP, Data Modeling & Data Transformation tools) . Knowledge of Teradata Manager tools is an asset, such as Teradata Database Administrator, etc. . Knowledge of Data Warehouse service offers, . Knowledge of Enterprise Computing Platforms . Bachelor's degree in technical field required, with focus in Computer Engineering, or Mathematics is preferred. Advanced degrees optional.
