Overall Accountabilities:
Assumes overall accountability for staff management, communication, and coordination within the development and implementation of information systems solutions and associated support for clients.

The systems manager is responsible for the overall delivery of a solution and associated support that will meet or exceed the joint requirements of the customer's specification and the proposal submitted by International Financial.

General Role & Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for staff management, communication, and coordination within the development and implementation of information systems solutions and associated support for clients.
  • Interprets business issues and adapts work priorities within the Division Collaborates with business and program managers, and development teams to coordinate changing priorities, and issues on specific projects within the release to resolve scheduling, staffing and scope issues
  • Provides oversight and governance over assigned clients' projects and support activities whether executed within their team or outside of their dedicated team
  • Coordinates the organization of project activities ensuring that assigned projects are completed on time and within schedule constraints
  • Coordinates all aspects of project delivery including defining project scope, specifying deliverables, estimating project duration, effort and cost, managing project budget, creating detailed project plans, providing status reports and managing change requests
  • Apply principles and methodologies of development practices
  • Maintains regular communications with active team and business stakeholders to ensure necessary and appropriate steps are taken to resolve difficulties, which may impede progress or compromise achievement of team's release and service objectives
  • Responsible for maintaining application service levels
  • Coordinates required application support activities
  • Main role in the overall design and architectural direction of iFAST/Web application
  • Full life cycle application development
  • Designing, coding and debugging applications in various software languages. Software analysis, code analysis, requirements analysis
  • Software review, identification of code metrics, system risk analysis, software reliability analysis
  • Object-oriented Design and Analysis (OOA and OOD)
  • Software modelling and simulation
  • Front End graphical user interface design
  • Performance tuning, improvement, balancing, usability, automation
  • Support, maintain and document software functionality
  • Integrate software with existing systems
  • Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation

Competencies:

Critical:

  • 5 years+ of experience developing in Object Oriented Programming utilizing Java
  • Java, J2EE, BEA WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, XML, HTML, AJAX, JavaScript, Web services, People Management
  • 3-5 years' experience managing IT teams with proven results
  • demonstrated experience managing teams of 5-10 team members
  • proven ability to navigate effectively in highly complex situations
  • Project Management Minimum 3-5 years of successfully managing various types of projects and programs ranging in size, complexity and scope
  • Software Development 5-7 years of software development experience in areas such as programming, systems analysis, business analysis, testing, management and support
  • Intimate knowledge of the software development life cycle
Important:

  • MySQL, SQL Server, UNIX, Linux, Sun Solaris, Progress, SQL
  • BS degree (MS degree would be preferred but not required) in either engineering or computer since
  • Strong design and documentation skills
  • Strong communication with both technical and business teams
  • Good understanding of Object Oriented Programming concept
  • Manages professional employees and/or supervisors; may manage business support, technical or production staff
  • Serves as a technical resource for team members, and ensures associate awareness and training on IT standards, policies, and procedures
  • Develops processes and procedures to implement functional strategies
  • Applies software development expertise to improve effectiveness and provide guidance to own employees
  • Conversant in various tools for statistical analysis, management reporting and planning, project planning, and time tracking
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and creative problem solving skills, including the ability to deal with situations where information is difficult to obtain, complex or ambiguous
  • Exhibits excellent organizational and teamwork skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills are necessary to effectively convey goals and initiatives to team members and top management Extensive experience in direct customer contact and presentations
  • Strong leadership and decision making skills
  • Proactive, energetic, professional self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
