Overview:
This position is a full time employment opportunity within Baxter's R&D IT organization.
Our ideal candidate is a hands-on technical lead with extensive Siebel configuration and integration development and Sun/Unix systems management experience. Individual must possess leadership and technical abilities to drive project design and build activities, provide architectural direction, interact with Global IT teams, vendors, and business customers, and be eager to ""get hands dirty"" to resolve issues.
Key objectives:
• Implement future project releases and software upgrades leveraging technical and life sciences industry best practices.
• Lead external developers through design, build, test, and deployment of new projects and enhancements in a validated environment.
• Provide architectural direction and recommendation for future project roadmap.
• Hands on development to resolve issues with 3rd level support.
Key experiences and attributes:
• Extensive Siebel application and integration development experience.
• Leadership abilities to lead developers and interact with other IT teams, vendors, and customers.
• Demonstrated track record and references delivering solid implementations.
• Breadth and depth in multiple platforms, including experience with Integration (web services), Database (Oracle/SQL), and ETL (DataStage) platforms a plus.
• Outstanding presentation, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Experience with software validation/lifecycle in a regulated environment.
• Strong Life Sciences business knowledge.
• Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries to deliver results.
Detailed Summary:
Review business requirements, plan, design, architect and measure technical solutions aligned to Global technology strategies and standards. Manage technical aspects of large complex projects or new technology. Provide expert technical counsel and leadership to drive the strategic direction and set Baxter technology standards. Proactively address significant business issues through technological innovation. Establish global technical strategy to meet IT customer needs. Drive global implementation of technology vision. Facilitate the development of professional and technical skills for self and peers.
Manage projects on system platforms, implement technology vision in multiple areas, liaison role between Customers and Corporate standards, provide consulting and architectural reviews within area of expertise, develop skills for self and peers.
•Develop processes, procedures and cost-effective technical solutions to support and improve systems. .
•Research technology solutions to meet business needs
•Interface with IT customers to understand business requirements and customer needs and assist in the development of business cases and justifications.
•Provide technical education, guidance and consulting to IT customers and team members on technology solutions, services, and standards.
•Participate in functional design review across the company.
•Lead complex technical projects supporting global technological decisions and implementations
•Prepare business requirements, system assessments, project and process assessments, and implementation documentation for technical projects.
•Install and support technical solutions and implementations.
•Establish service-level metrics used to define and measure technology services.
•Establish and manage effective vendor relationships.
Job Requirements
•Breadth and depth in several architectures or platforms. Must have extensive hands-on application and integration development experience.
•Ability to solve complex technical and business problems.
•Ability to deliver innovative technology solutions.
•Ability to manage projects and interact with all levels of management.
•Experience with technical analysis, modeling and simulation a plus.
•Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
•Self-starter; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
•Strong problem solving, analytical and documentation skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Required:
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience. 8+ years of relevant technical experience, including systems analysis, design and implementation. Strong analytical and oral/written communication skills. Preferred:
•Siebel 7.x and 8.x certified developer
•5+ years of Siebel application and integration development experience
•Siebel eClinical vertical development experience
•Actuate Reports development experience
•Oracle BI publisher development experience
•Cognos/Other BI integration development experience
•LDAP/AD integration experience
•Top tier consulting firm experience
•Clinical Trials business experience
•Will consider TECHNICAL SPECIALIST, SR. TECHNICAL SPECIALIST, and ASSOCIATE TECHNICAL ANALYST
