Technical Quality Assurance Specialist - immediate
A midsized and rapidly growing innovative software development company that creates and provides software and services has an opening for a Quality Assurance Specialist who will do QA test case authoring, test output validation and other related QA tests.
The ideal candidate must be an “independent and critical thinker", and an ambitious individual who is looking to maintain and proactively improve the QA processes. You should have a passion for problem solving. Self motivation is a big plus. This company is looking for individuals that can come up with innovative ideas and help to contribute to optimizing the technical QA process.
Responsibilities
The role of the QA Analyst is to help verify through testing the company’s applications and services provide the functionality the customers need. The QA Analyst will take requirements, design, build and execute test cases and work closely with the development team.
Requirements
An ideal candidate would also have skills in some of the following areas:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; detail oriented, adept at logical thinking, conscientious and meticulous
5 to 10 years experience with manual testing and testing of Web applications
Experience with QA methodology and procedures is preferred
Experience automating tests and executing the tests
This is a plus – The developers do test scripting with NUnit, so an experience with unit testing, specifically scripting experience with NUnit, web based testing, or experience with jUnit or Cucumber would be suitable
Experience with Behavioral Driven Development is a plus
Experience with Selenium is a plus, as this will be used for testing
Experience with basic Windows commands and features requires
Knowledge of databases is helpful
Will utilize existing tools and research and look into implementing other tools that will increase effectiveness
Experience testing Algorithmic or other advanced functionality is a plus
Bachelor’s in Computer Science or engineering
Good communication skills and a technical computer background. The ability to work independently and a desire to learn are important for all candidates. The potential candidate will need to be comfortable in a dynamic, fast paced environment with a high degree of individual autonomy. Mid-level candidates should also have a good, practical knowledge of QA concepts and methodologies.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures. Ability to write well written e-mails, business correspondence, and client communications. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from of colleagues and clients. Ability to communicate problems to the Manager, and escalate and solve the problems.
