Role Summary/Purpose GE Intelligent Platforms is seeking a motivated self-starter who is passionate to work with the latest cutting edge technologies implementing manufacturing modules and core product functionality within a Services Oriented Architecture. In this position you will work as a team with the Applications Services Engineers to identify, design and implement key manufacturing modules and functionality necessary to round out our Manufacturing Product Suite.
Essential Responsibilities . High-level architecting of technical solutions to satisfy marketing requirements

. Work as part of distributed development team to: create and maintain "commercial-off-the-shelf" software products and work with cross-functional team to ensure reliability, functionality and quality goals

. Complete feasibility analysis and prototyping

. Creation and development of product specifications for the design and delivery of control and MES systems

. Responsible for architecting solutions with re-useable applications to leverage the solution across multiple opportunities to cut development time and cost

. Generate clear and concise design documentation

. Hands-on development of production software code

. Design and development of software applications in .NET platforms using C#, VC++, and COM

. Participate in strategic and tactical planning sessions

. Interface with QA to ensure quality

. Investigate and evaluate new technologies

. Collaborate with all stakeholders including other GE businesses to ensure product success

. Provide timely and accurate estimates for product deliverables

. Assist existing customers in problem resolution and help define future opportunities with those customers

. Continuous product improvement through maintenance activities on existing products to correct errors in the original implementation, adding new features or re-architecting areas for performance improvement

Qualifications/Requirements . Bachelors or Masters in Technology/Engineering preferably in Computer Science

. 10 to 12 years experience in Software Development with Microsoft Visual Studio/Development tools

. Minimum of 2-3 years C# programming experience

. Exposure to .NET 3.5 technologies like WPF, Silverlight

. Knowledge of MES, Databases, and HMI/SCADA applications

. Ability to communicate and interface directly with the customer

. Proven ability to write clear, concise requirements and design documents

. Experience with SQL programming and databases

. Experience working with Enterprise level Large Scale Applications

. Software skills in software analysis, design, methodology and architecture

. Strong spoken and written English language skills

. Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills

Desired Characteristics . Experience creating graphical user interfaces

. Experience in web services, SOA, ESB, data modeling and databases

. Experience in problem solving, data structures and algorithms

. Experience in building client/server applications

. Experience in multi-threaded applications development

. Manufacturing IT, Infrastructure Software, or Automation Software industry experience

. Six Sigma Green Belt certification

. Development in an ISO-certified environment

. Multi-platform experience

. Development in an Agile Software Process environment
