Functions as a technical project leader with the Field Operations for special projects. Performs complex infrastructure maintenance and upgrades with Field Responsibilities:. Resolve customers' issues escalated per NTAC procedures. Resolve chronic and complex technical infrastructure issues escalated per NTAC procedures. Produce analysis for chronic and complex issues. Engineer SL-100 & CS 2100 analog and digital voice VOIP and data telecommunications equipment including peripherals. Assist SL-100 & CS 2100 field technicians in appropriate troubleshooting techniques for SL-100 & CS 2100 analog and digital voice and data problems and for point to point as well as point to CO applications. Assist field technicians in completion of technical work orders for translation changes, system repairs, and in related product lines as required. Assist STI sales with technical SL-100 & CS 2100 RFP responses, presentations, and information. Review all SL-100 & CS 2100 engineering responses from Nortel to insure accuracy and completeness and product fit to customer requirements. Develop and maintain a current database on all SL-100 & CS 2100 and related products he/she has engineered. Configure and implement large network installation projects. Interface with Engineering and vendors as required to accomplish tasks. Act as off-hour NTAC back-up support. Additional responsibilities as position requiresKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: (education, experience, technical skills, communication skills, customer focus, time management skills, independence, accuracy). BS in Electronic Engineering or comparable experience. 5+ years SL-100 & CS 2100 engineering experience. Complete and thorough knowledge of SL-100 and CS 2100 engineering skills and SL-100 and CS 2100 NTP's. Complete and thorough knowledge of Telecommunication Industry standards. Solid work ethic as well as good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required. Strong customer service skills with good interpersonal and communications skills. Enthusiastic self-starter, analytically minded and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task. Ability to travel occasionally to customer locations when necessary. Advanced computer skills, including working knowledge of UNIX, Windows NT, and Windows XP operating systems. AS 5300 and A2E knowledge.
