Overview: This is an excellent opportunity to join our IT team as we are currently growing the department and looking to hire a Technical Support Engineer position. We're looking for someone who wants to join a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment and is able to contribute to a growing team. The Technical Support Engineer is a member of various IT project teams to support the internal IT functions of our business. This position will also be responsible for end user technical support across our US sites. Primary Responsibilities Daily, routine checks/maintenance on servers to include reviewing various logs (backup, Event Viewer, antivirus, etc) Position may also include responsibilities to install or provide remote system administration services for our K12 Student and/or Financial application suites.
.Responsible for backups to include monitoring backups, changing tapes, and organizing off-site storage and retrieval .Remote desktop support across different geographical locations to include desktops, laptops, 3rd party software, and printers/scanners/faxes .Provide application support for Office 2007/2010 .Monitor and administer IT Help Desk/ticketing system including job queue .Responsible for support and administration of anti-virus/anti-malware solution .General Unix / Windows system administration tasks Position Requirements
Required Skills . Microsoft Office 2007/2010 . Windows XP/7 support and administration . Windows Server 2003/2008 support and administration . Working within a help desk/ticketing software solution . Working as part of an on-call rotation . Ability to communicate and support teams across different geographic locations . Disaster Recovery Planning and Testing Preferred Skills . Microsoft SQL Server administration . HPUX / Linux / Informix administration skills are a plus . Cisco router/switch configuration, support and administration . VMware including VSphere . DataProtector Backup Solutions . HP SAN storage . Strong communication skills, both written and verbal . Strong customer service ethic . Team oriented & flexible
Education & Experience: . B.S. degree preferred in computer science, software engineering or related field . At least 2-3 years of experience as a desktop engineer/systems administrator
