NetCarrier Telecom is a regional telecommunication provider that offers voice & data solutions for small to medium sized businesses. You can visit us on the web at . We are looking to fill a technical support position in our Lansdale, PA office. We are hiring multiple candidates for both full-time and part-time positions. This position does require the candidate to be available for training during the day 32-40 hours for 4 to 6 weeks. Special circumstances will be evaluated on a case to case basis and accommodations may be made for the right person. Your job duties would include; answering phones and email correspondence from customers, agents and vendors. Creating internal trouble tickets on issues not resolved during one phone call and keeping detailed logs and information on steps taken towards a resolution. Working co-operatively with agents and vendors to solve problems must have excellent social engineering skills in order to navigate the bureaucracy of larger companies we work closely with. You will be troubleshooting problems ranging from errors on circuits, email and internet connectivity issues, LAN, DNS, port forwarding, firewall issues, etc. Qualifications Thorough understanding of networking fundamentals and routing principles. Must be able to work with customers over the phone to troubleshoot network connectivity issues in a LAN and WAN environment. Experience troubleshooting and configuring Internet based applications such as email clients, web browsers, FTP programs, etc. Proficient in multiple versions of the Windows operating systems. Familiarity and working knowledge of command line operating systems such as Linux or Free BSD a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Experience with customer service is a plus. High aptitude for computers and technology in general. Must be willing to learn and constantly update your knowledgebase. Ability to multitask and operate in a high pressure environment. Professionalism at all times is a must. Knowledge or experience with networking devices such as routers and switching equipment at the command line level. Knowledge and experience of Cisco IOS a plus. Attention to detail required. The perfect candidate would have experience in the Telecommunications industry, specifically with data & voice services delivered over copper based circuits. Must be willing to take initiative. Compensation for this position ranges from $10.00 to $15.00 per hour based on your skill level.
