Job Title: Technical Support Specialist - Rotor Wing Location: Melbourne, FL Overview: ? Develop project proposals with regard to
aircraft modifications to meet operational
needs, increase efficiencies, and safety.
? May lead or deploy with a modification
or repair team in the field.
? Review and interpret AD?s, SB?s and
other technical data. Provide an action plan to
execute initial implementation for specific
aircraft or implementation as a fleet wide
campaign.
? Provide technical support for
maintenance and operations department by
interfacing with OEM Technical representatives
Reps, D.E.R?s, and AAR Airlift engineering as
required.
? Provide trouble shooting assistance and
solutions for chronic aircraft discrepancies or
failures.
? Provide Technical assistance to other
AAR departments pertaining to aircraft systems
and components.
? Assist in the writing of technical
proposals.
? Assist with internal/external audit
responses.
? Acts as liaison between the production
and engineering departments. Education/ Experience: ? High school diploma required; Bachelors
of Arts Degree (BA) or Bachelor of Science
Degree (BS) from a four-year College or
University; or equivalent combination of
education and experience is preferred.
SKILLS and EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED:
? Ten (10) years of experience in Rotor
Wing Aircraft in a Commercial and/or military
maintenance environment as a program manager,
maintenance manager or lead technician.
? Must be able to read and interpret
Wiring Diagrams, Engineering Documents and Blue
Prints.
? Must be able to work in a fast paced
environment.
? Must be able to multi-task.
? Must have a working knowledge of
computer maintenance tracking programs.
? Excellent written and oral
communications skills.
? Must have excellent technical
presentation skills.
? Intermediate level skills in MS Office
(Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, Power Point,
Visio). General Comments: ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS:
? Stay current with aircraft market trends
and fleet specific issues pertaining to fleet
type in operational theater which AAR Airlift
operates in order to increase performance and
reduce overall operating costs.
? Assist in research, development, and
deployment of new aircraft as assigned.
? Perform other duties as directed by
Director of Technical Services.
? Must be a U.S. Person as defined in 22
C.F.R. § 120.15
PREFERRED:
? Part FAA 135 and 145 Experience.
? Five (5) years field operations in the
following fleets: S-61 or equivalent, Eurocopter
product line and Bell product line.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
? Current FAA issued Mechanic certificate
with both Airframe & Powerplant ratings is
required.
