Brief Posting Description Oracle Communications has an opening for a Sr. Technical Editor in our Information Development team. As a Sr. Technical Editor, you will work closely with writing teams to perform in-depth developmental, substantive, and technical edits for product documentation and courseware. The ideal candidate should have 10+ years of independent writing and editing experience publishing under tight deadlines, experience editing writers who are geographically dispersed, and the demonstrated ability to thoroughly research topics while handling multiple tasks in a fairly organized manner.
Detailed Description As a member of the Information Development team, you will · Perform developmental, technical, and substantive edits on product documentation (including online help, user guides, and reference material) and courseware. · Work closely with writers and courseware developers through the planning, writing, editorial, and publication phases to ensure well-organized, accurate, high-quality content that adheres to our documentation and courseware architectural and style guidelines. · Coordinate scheduling of multiple projects with writing and courseware teams to ensure on-time delivery. · Manage style guidelines and terminology. · Contribute to or create a word list specific to the product documentation or course. · Understand the tools used to create documentation (FrameMaker, Visio, online help tools such as RoboHelp) and production processes used to create and publish documentation. * Complete work to agreed schedules and organize own time efficiently.
