ARINC's Charleston, SC location is looking for a Technical Writer/Editor to support our Defense Systems Engineering & Support Division. Specifically Air Force Technical Order development for a new communications facility.
This position will:
- Be responsible for developing reviewing, editing, formatting and tracking technical documents - Maintain and support the work process flow and schedules for document development - Ensure standardized appropriate formatting in accordance with established guidelines - Assist with ARINC proposal Statement of Work (SOW) and work packages Qualifications Required Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience writing technical documentation - Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) technical documentation, preparation, procedures, and guidelines - Ability to grasp technical concepts and applications with the ability to translate clearly and concisely - Able to demonstrate the ability to compose and/or revise technical documentation using applicable guidelines/instructions, with little or no outside assistance Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including US Citizenship, for access to classified information.
Desired Experience: - 5 years developing Air Force documents including Technical and Operator manuals. - Experience in using Windows publishing software tools such as FrameMaker - Well developed knowledge and skills in technical editing techniques and software. - Excellent command of the English language - Previous experience working with similar technical information - Well developed understanding and knowledge of government, industry, and corporate documentation standards - Well developed skills with Windows software applications
Education or Certification Requirements:
- BS/BA degree or equivalent Amount of Travel Required for Position 0%-25%
