Technician IIBAE Systems is working to provide Systems, Software, Engineering and Logistics Technical services to the Ship Defense and Expeditionary Warfare Department of the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division (NSWC PHD), located in Port Hueneme, California. We are currently seeking candidates in response to obtaining an award on the SSDS for 2012. The SSDS Program is setup to provide detection, tracking, and assessment to defend against threats, with the duration from initial detection of an ASCM. SSDS is designed to accomplish these defensive actions and will be used aboard most classes of non-Aegis ships. BAE Systems is looking for active job seekers that have the ability to provide Software Engineering, development and programming support for design, development and modification, upgrade of systems interfaces, test simulations, training, data analysis systems/tools, and remote distance support applications. SSDS will make it possible to automate the detections through these duties.

Electrical & Mechanical Technician's are needed to provide expertise in support of challenging systems and efforts such as SPS-48/49/67/73, SPQ-9B, TRS-3D, DBR,VSR/MFR, Advanced Radars, NIFCA, NSSMS, Evolved Seasparrow Missile, (ESSM), Decoy Launching System,(DLS) Mk-53 (NULKA),
The Technician shall provide local, on-site services for Ship Defense Systems under the direction of the Field engineer. These Services include:
a. Test and Evaluation of Combat Systems and Support b. Fleet Training Team Support c. Fleet Modernization Engineering
II. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Assists in conducting technical analysis of Ship Self Defense systems/component implementations, installations, modifications and enhancements in accordance with specific customer specifications and implementations.
2. Troubleshoots malfunctions in moderately complex equipment by providing assistance via telephone, message or personal visit to site. Performs repairs by adjusting, calibrating, aligning or modifying circuitry and components using hand and power tools.
3. Sets up standard test apparatus or contrives test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental and life tests for evaluating performance and reliability of prototype or production model.
4. Installs equipment field changes. Assembles and/or modifies wires, insulation and components using hand and power tools. Installs assemblies and hardware into housing.
5. Writes or revises technical reports and manuals and develops and revises charts, graphs and schematics to describe and illustrate systems operating characteristics.
6. Prepares drawings of parts and assemblies using CAD equipment, including such work as mechanical or electrical drawings, schematics and system diagrams to describe and illustrate fabrication, assembly, installation, operation, maintenance, logistic support and testing.
7. Reviews customer specifications, design changes and related data to determine logistic needs of projects. Reviews schedules, inventory reports, and work orders and confers with supervisor to determine type, quantity and availability of required material and priorities of customer orders. Identifies materials overdue and determines its location, availability and condition.
8. Initiates requisitions and replenishes parts, equipment and material required for the project. Records quantity and type of materials distributed. Arranges transportation for shipment of parts, equipment and material to various operations.
Required Skills:MUST HAVES: 1Ability to qualify for and obtain a DoDSecret security clearance2. Four years experiencewith systems, sensors, control, data and/or weapons element operations, maintenance, and/or in-service engineering experience with increased levels of ferred Skills:PREFER TO HAVES: Specific experience with Ship Defense and Expeditionary Warfare Systems.
