MarketStar’s IT Services currently has an opportunity available for a Telecom Specialist who will be responsible to provide telecommunications support for end-users at multiple sites in the US.
Requirements:
Maintain high availability of all telephony services through proper patching, and system design
Make recommendations to departments to effectively meet telecom needs while ensuring cost effective systems
Ability to direct the strategic direction of MarketStar's telephony services
Keep management well informed of area activities
Establish and maintain professional working relationships with clients, vendors, and outside contacts as well as area staff, other departments and management
BS/BA or Associates Degree in Computer Science or Engineering plus a minimum of three years directly related work experience or equivalent
CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or other industry certifications preferred
3 years telecom experience required
Proficient knowledge of Cisco Routers and Switches
Experience configuring QoS
Thorough knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP network technologies; DNS, DHCP, TFTP, NAT, and SSL
Working knowledge of VoIP protocols; H.323, SCCP, SIP, MGCP
Experience configuring and administering Cisco Call Manager, Unity, and Cisco IP Phones
Familiar with network monitoring tools, preferably SolarWinds
Strong fluency with desktop (Microsoft) operating systems and applications
The ability to work flexible hours and travel (on occasion) is also required
Strong orientation to flexibility and teamwork, with ability to handle multiple tasks and projects
Experience using call management tools and ticketing systems to receive and log customer calls and track status
Experience assisting Engineering staff in the execution of change management including rollouts and fixes
Good organizational ability
Basic accounting and reporting skills
Solid written and verbal communication skills and customer service abilities
