SUMMARY Under moderate supervision, maintains the company?s telecommunications systems by evaluating and planning systems to best serve the company?s needs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Provides the planning, design, acquisition and implementation of the company?s communications system. * Evaluates organization-wide telecommunications requirements to develop strategies for implementing a total organization telecommunications network to jointly support current and planned voice/data applications. This includes the following technologies: voice mail, conferencing, voice recorders, backups, PBX multimedia services, remote office, LAN strategy and IP PBXs. * Monitors existing telecommunications networks, utilizing various performance and capacity analyses disciplines, advising on the best use of resources, cost effectiveness and implementation. * Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and strategies for each of the following technology categories in order to perform the functions outlined. * Conducts project planning, cost analysis and vendor comparisons. * Performs evaluation, acquisition, modification, implementation, testing, and post-evaluation of new and evolving computer hardware, software and telecommunications equipment and other technology on a regular basis. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor?s degree preferred. * 5 years experience in Nortel Call Servers, Contact Center and Call Pilot. * Prefer experience with scripting and reporting. * An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS * Developing professional expertise. Works on non-complex to moderately complex projects. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices. * General knowledge of telecommunications industry standards. * General knowledge of hardware and software for telecommunication systems. * Able to maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes within the telecommunication field including both hardware and software updates. * Able to meet aggressive deadlines. * Able to define system and functional requirements. WORKING CONDITIONS * Typical office setting with environmentally controlled conditions. * At times must be able to lift up to 50lbs, climb a ladder or work under raised flooring to install cables and equipment. * Able to work extended hours as business needs dictate. * Occasional overnight travel required.
