Sumter Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SECO), a large electric distribution company located in Central Florida, has an immediate opening for a qualified Telecommunications Specialist working from our headquarters located at 330 S. US 301, Sumterville, FL 33585.
Qualified candidate will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and support of the Cooperatives various in-house voice, data and video equipment, microwave and cellular communication systems to ensure high availability; participating in the implementation of future communication systems; providing recommendations to management to improve methods and processes to further leverage these critical systems in a cost effective manner; and providing support for the Cooperatives emerging satellite mobile communication needs.
Qualified candidate will possess an AS degree or equivalent experience in the Telecommunications or the Information Technology field; a minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in point to point Microwave systems, RF Communications, 900 MHz Data Link/MAS Simulcast paging networks, Satellite Communication Systems, SCADA communication system, and EMI investigations; knowledge of telecommunications equipment and technology, including but not limited to, VoIP phone systems, Siemens PBX models HiComm 300 HiComm 150 and HiPath 3000, and Siemens ACD and message stream software; knowledge of electronic circuit analysis and project/construction techniques and procedures; knowledge in the operation of personal computers and communication specific software programs; and excellent customer service/interpersonal skills.
Requirements:
Prefer knowledge of the following systems or ability to quickly acquire expertise to support these systems: Microwave radio systems, cellular phone (Nextel/Sprint) technology, including building repeaters, Cisco Network Equipment, Fiber optics, Windows Networks, Internet/Intranet, TCP/IP, and SCADA.
