This position will be responsible for testing activities throughout the software lifecycle, from the development of test cases, to testing activities, and final reporting. The individual will be responsible for the development of test plans, test descriptions, and automated test scripts for software individual will work closely with management, the project Lead Engineers, and project staff Software Engineers to ensure all software applications meet acceptable quality standards and fulfill the specified functional requirements. The individual will produce documentation for the test plans & test descriptions for use during the software development phase, will carry out testing, will maintain a deficiency database for each project, and will report testing.
Responsibilities: Minimum work experience/skills required/preferred: Required Experience & Skills: - 4+ years of professional experience as a test engineer - Experience with end-to-end testing of complex software systems, including: * development of test plans and test descriptions * efficient approaches to carry out testing and maintain a deficiency database * effective analysis and reporting of testing status. - Experience with testing tools and test automation (esp. for interactive graphical applications) - Ability to learn new domains/skills/tools quickly - Ability to adapt as needed to work in a fast-paced agile environment - Ability to work closely with Managers, Technical Leads, and System/Software Engineers - Excellent oral & written communication skills - Willingness to travel - Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance Preferred Experience & Skills - Experience with Unit Testing (JUnit, NUnit) and Test Driven Development - Experience with CM tools, such as: CVS, SVN, SharePoint, Perforce - Experience with Requirements Management tools, such as: ClearCase, RequisitePro, Contour - Familiarity with CMMI Level 3 process improvement - Previous government (especially DoD) testing experience - Experience with leading/mentoring others in Testing activities - Domain experience in key areas of interest such as: Space Operations, Air Operations, Cyber Security, Weather Systems, Force Protection. - Active DoD Security Clearance (SECRET or SCI)
Qualifications: Required Education & Training: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline with 4+ years progressive experience
