Test & Evaluation Engineer 2
Develops airborne instrumentation and configuration definitions needed to perform test and minimize risk. Designs component and sub-assembly level hardware or software and uses analytical tools to verify the design. Assists in coordinating the manufacture and assembly of test hardware. Identifies solutions to basic problems. Reviews test data for accuracy, quality and/or fidelity. Alerts senior engineers of off-nominal data. Works under general supervision. Requires travel generally of 3 months or less per year.

Technical• Analog/Digital Signal Proc
General understanding of analog and digital signal processing. Knowledge of data system design, architecture, use, and measurement techniques utilizing transducers and sensors as a signal source.
• Test & Eval Mech/Elec Design
General understanding of mechanical and/or electrical design techniques (e.g., machine and mechanisms design, sheet metal design, equipment installation design, wire harness design, control systems design). Knowledge of computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., PSpice, AutoCAD, CATIA, Unigraphics).
• Test/Evaluate Data Acqstn Sys
General understanding of data acquisition system attributes (e.g., range, accuracy, frequency response, bandwidth) to define characteristics of measurements to be recorded.
• Transducer & Sensor Selection
General understanding of transducer and sensor physics and the ability to make hardware selections appropriate to measure physical phenomena.

Typical Education/Experience
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
