Description
Education: High School diploma or GED. Completed the following certifications within one and a half year of assuming duties: Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) or with COR approval complete a vendor/platform specific certification in one of the following disciplines: Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) Microsoft Certified Applications Developer (MCAD) Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) Sun Certified Professional (SCP) Red Hat Certification Program (RHCP) CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Oracle Certified Professional Experience: Five (5) years of Computerized System experience, to include: Design, Development, Test and Evaluation, Network Protocols, LAN administration fundamentals, and UNIX and Windows based operating system.
Responsible for cryptographic equipment such as TACLANE’s, KIV-7’s, KG-245, and KG-250’s and should understand keying material associated with those devices. Utilize HP OpenView to monitor and view network status and outages. Utilize BMC Remedy Helpdesk ticketing system. Responsible for various cabling technologies to include Fiber Optic, Serial, and Ethernet standards. Responsible for supporting Cisco routers and switches, Verilink modems, Juniper switches. Utilize Microsoft Visio to update system documentation. Responsible for training of junior WAN technicians to support mission. Responsible for installation and maintenance of over 300 high priority WAN circuits to support mission requirements. Establishes standard operating procedures for troubleshooting and escalation of outages. Ensures that all circuits meet security requirements. Maintain communications in the tech control by helping augment the operations floor. Position is rotating days and swings shifts. Provide tier 2 assistance to tech control facility while assigned to Technical Operations. Provide professional expertise for T1 circuits, T3 circuits, Optical Carrier circuits, crypto, routers, switches, and number of other systems and equipment installed at site. Track troubleshooting progress with remedy to ensure that the customer is informed of the progress made on all outages. Provide OJT to new personnel and soldiers on the day-to-day tasks in an effort to improve the technical abilities of those working in the section. Individual(s) supporting this tasking shall have experience with various long-haul circuit technologies to include T-1, DS-3, OC-12, and OC-48.
