ATCED has an opening for a Development Engineer for development projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
ATCED Hardware Development Engineers are responsible for development, and deployment of test tooling in support of Intel's CPU, chipset, and communication product roadmaps. The tooling development process requires the close collaboration with other Intel groups and suppliers. In this role, development engineers are responsible for technical, schedule, and quality requirements, supplier and project management execution, and transfer to high volume manufacturing (HVM).
Other responsibilities include writing purchase specifications, review / ratify designs, review qualification, final technical assessment / reporting, developing strategies, designing and executing experiments, statistical analysis, and communication of experimental results and risk.
The candidate will interface with internal groups (STTD, ATD, Factory customers) as well as external suppliers in different geographies. Limited domestic and international travel may be required.
In this position, you will be an Equipment Development Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Working with divisional customers to understand test tooling requirements and managing the supply chain to complete development for new product introduction (NPI) - Drive the continuous improvement of supplier indicators - Driving process improvements to achieve higher quality, improved efficiency and lead-time reduction - Providing project management, test tooling design and/or development and sustaining support for the completed NPI's - Planning and/or managing technical NPI programs to meet project objectives and goals - Interfacing with development teams to support project schedules, track deliverables, issue resolution, risk management, indicator development and communication across multiple project teams to achieve project deliverables - Define and validate thermal and interconnect infrastructure such as design templates, checklists and approved components in support of new process technologies to ensure a seamless fit between interconnect and thermal devices with package and motherboards. - Identify future requirements for our design infrastructure by working with pathfinding and product groups to understand their plans/requirements for xPV - Responsible for overall VF support, supplier management, and strategies needed to meet program timelines and requirements for NPI deployment at the factories - Partnering and interacting with the Suppliers, Commodity Managers, Sort Test Technology Development teams, other development groups, and the Virtual Factories - Consulting external groups on test tooling problems and implement improvements in the tooling development process - Innovating on new thermal and interconnect technologies - Performing signal integrity and power delivery analysis for NPI's - Behavioral traits for this position include: Strong written and verbal communication skills, team skills, ability to influence, tolerance of ambiguity, creativity and results orientation The successful candidate must demonstrate an engineering and results oriented skill set, excellent written and verbal communication skills, a methodical organized approach to project management, and strong technical problem solving.
Ability to work within multinational, geographically disperse teams is a must. A good understanding of mechanical design principles and tools such as statistics (JMP), and geometric dimensioning and tolerance stack-up analysis desired.
Working knowledge of computer aided design packages such as Pro-Engineer, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Flowtherm, Ansys, Icepak and/or other product design software as well as knowledge of tooling manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, forming, extrusion, screw machining, and machining is a plus.
A BSME required, MSME a plus.
Qualifications: You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current Bachelor level school classes, projects, research and any relevant previous job and/or internship experience:
Minimum Qualifications: - Entry level position for a technical college graduate - Must be graduating with a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering - Must have the unrestricted right to work in the US without requiring sponsorship - Minimum 2 years experience in MS suite of productivity tools especially MS Excel - Minimum 1 year experience in thermal dynamics and mechanical design (coursework will be considered) - Minimum 6mths experience managing projects
Preferred Qualifications: - 1 years experience in supply chain management
