Trading Support Analyst
As a Trading Support Analyst, your job is to maintain Business applications and services. You are responsible for the availability and performance of those applications and services. The Windows environment consists of Windows 2003/2008 Servers and Windows 7 clients with Microsoft and company specific applications. The UNIX environment consists of a variety of Linux/UNIX and Solaris platforms. There will also be the opportunity to work with a various other systems.
Responsibilities:
-Working with dedicated business units.
-1st point of contact for the trading desks.
-Maintain the company’s primary processes (eg Windows based client-server trading applications).
-Availability, performance and monitoring of these processes.
-Documentation of applications and incident management.
-Learn about company trading applications in order to identify and resolve trading problems.
-Managing issues and changes towards software vendors and in-house development.
-Maintain a group of applications throughout their lifecycle (including installation, configuration and deployment).
-Determination of hardware requirements, installation and verification.
-Technical contact for the Development and Support departments.
-Support the other Business Support team members and assist other teams globally.
-Focus on stability, speed and functionality of core systems.
Qualifications:
-Knowledge and experience in maintaining client-server software on both Windows and Linux platforms.
-Good UNIX knowledge, proven BASH scripting experience is particularly advantageous.
-Documentation of hard-to-resolve issues with an eye towards streamlining future process and procedure.
-Minimum of 2 years work experience at this level.
-Basic knowledge of networks and network protocols.
-Good communication and reporting skills.
-Support the other Business Support team members and assist other teams globally.
-Proactive, structured and analytical.
