Training Device Technician
Repairs, tests, installs, configures, upgrades and assists in the modification of simulators and training components, devices, hardware and software. Coordinates and consults with vendors and/or customers to determine the level of maintenance or repair to be performed on training device and/or components. Performs detailed inspections for pre-operations, post-operations and component handling. Inspects components to verify status prior to installation. Consults with engineers in troubleshooting systems and support equipment. Troubleshoot to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components. Works with minimal supervision. Candidate will also be responsible for tracking repair-of-repairable using TSGS (Training Systems and Government Services) processes and tools. Successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting remote sites and repairs which includes compliance with export regulations and procedures. Devices exist both in St. Louis and various locations around the world. Travel is required to support field retrofits.

Complete understanding and knowledge of engineering data (e.g., blueprints, data sets, specifications, logic diagrams, electrical circuit schematics) to interpret, analyze, and develop data for support requirements.
Basic Qualifications For ConsiderationDo you have experience repairing and/or maintaining trainers and simulators or military aircraft?
Typical Education/Experience
AA degree in related discipline and typically 3 or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Job related information
Job related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Other responsibilities include managing and monitoring of repairs for trainer equipment. Selected candidate will also be responsible for working with CLS (Contract Logistics Support) field technicians to assist in downed trainers. Record keeping/inventories are essential for tracking government owned equipment. Candidate will work with property management to ensure government property assigned to the program is managed according policies and procedures. Experience with the Longbow Crew Trainer is a definite plus. Experience with Linux and Windows platforms and networking is also a plus. Travel could be as much as 40%.
