A top level technical contributor with advanced technical and professional skills who, under general direction, independently leads the design of server architecture to include hardware platforms, services, and operation systems.

Key Accountabilities:
Acts as the key advisor to IFS management on new directions of server hardware/software environment. Analyzes current enterprise resources and makes recommendations for capacity planning and performance tuning. Acts as technical advisor to business units in the development of business solutions. Provides 3rd level support for the UNIX environment. Evaluates, and tests hardware, operating systems and services and makes recommendations on new systems/upgrades and their impact on existing system configurations. Independently researches and resolves technical problems of the highest complexity. Documents standards, implementation procedures, and troubleshooting processes. May act as project manager on projects of high complexity.
Skill Summary:
Unix Administration - 5 or more years in a large environment managing multiple systems (20 or more) - AIX, Linux, SUN
Unix OS Patching - 5 or more years supporting OS upgrades.
Troubleshooting Skills - 5 or more years.
Preferred Experience:
SAN Operations - 5 or more years in a large environment - EMC, 3PAR, HP EVA. Managing hardware, setting up LUN's, troubleshooting issues, and tuning performance.
Scripting Experience - 5 or more years developing scripts to manage systems. (ksh, sh, PERL)
Backup Operations - manage an enterprise class backup solution based on tape libray or disk to disk - Data Protector preferred but not required.
Oracle database environment support.
SAN Fabric support with Brocade or Qlogic switches.
Any experience with software development.
HP OpenView / NAGIOS monitoring tools experience.
Jumpstart or Satellite Channel experience for server builds.
VMware ESX support experience
