Job Description The Cache DBA Programmer will work under the general direction of the Unix Cache Manager/ Team Lead and the Technical Project Manager. This role will also work closely with the Epic Environment Manager and actively participates in Epic Environment Management meetings and Peer Review and Design Approval (PRADA) meetings. Responsiblities will include but are not limited to the following: Works with Operations Team on CACHE programming requests Design, test and deploy programming codes at client site Perform all necessary Unix/ Cache DBA tasks in support of the Epic application Works with Operations Team on Control / Release management of Operating Systems, data bases and Epic software as well as third party software utilized in the EPIC application Setup and participate in unit, regression, integration and performance testing Document Maintenance and troubleshooting procedures System monitoring, Tuning and Trouble-shooting to ensure maximum performance & availability Works with end user computing team on configuration and maintenance of Epic workstations, printers and other peripherals Monitor performance and exceptions, taking proactive action to resolve issues Assist in the maintenance and configuration of UNIX AIX servers supporting the EPIC application environment Assist in resolving technical problems and provide training if appropriate Promote teamwork and cooperative effort within and across teams Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical staff to accomplish objectives Takes ownership when solving customer problems; listens carefully to their needs or concerns; follows through to ensure solutions are the best fit and are properly implemented and modifies installed systems in accordance with prioritized requirements per the work plan Accepts accountability for own actions and ensures that assigned work is completed on time and is of high quality Interacts, communicates and collaborates with team members to maximize group effectiveness Required Skill Knowledge of data base systems, experience in Intersystems Cache programming Must have experience in a multi-tiered, multi-platform, mission critical environment Knowledge of internals of Computer Operating Systems (i.e. Unix/Aix certification requirement) Expert understanding of Cach, including routines, globals, and namespaces Working experience with HL7 interfaces Understanding of the underlying hardware and operating system UNIX AIX OS / Networking troubleshooting / ksh / PERL scripting Data Communications protocols (i.e. TCP/IP) Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills with the ability to interact with all levels of personnel within our environment Analytical skills related to solving complex systems problems in time-critical environment Ensure rapid response to problem issues to minimize impact on user functionality to meet SLAs Effective verbal and written communication Desired Skills: Epic Cache System Manager Epic Bridges Interfaces Epic Chronicles for Programmers he Cache DBA Programmer will work under the general direction of the Unix Cache Manager/ Team Lead and the Technical Project Manager.
