The main focus of Infrastructure Management team is the management and implementation of system infrastructures (mainly Windows and Unix infrastructures, running applications, eg Database and Web applications) for our customers.


Main Responsibility:
The Unix Technical Owner focuses on continuous operation and change management of the Unix operating systems, many of them within a high availability environment. The main goal is to minimize the amount of unplanned downtime in the customer's production environment and to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction.
Moreover he has the responsibility for complex Unix environments, is responsible for all change management on Unix and hardware level in these environments. He also is responsible for the optimization and proactive support.
The Unix Technical Owner is responsible to work on Unix complex incidents, identify and solve 3rdlevel problems, keep contact to the customer, coordinator of data center, technician and network incident and implementation activities.
According to our service level agreements we commit to our customers short response times and to fix problems within a given timeframe.
To fulfil these tasks, regular standby and weekend work is expected.
Essential:
· Excellent knowledge in HP-UX and other Unix derivates
· Excellent knowledge about file system layout, LVM, JFS, online JFS and VERITAS volume management
· At least 3 years hand-on experience in UNIX administration
· At least 2 years experience in the listed job requirements for high availability environments
· Experience in UNIX networking configuration administration
· Special technical hardware knowledge in HP-UX server and HP storage technology
· Experience in Capacity planning (f. e. disk storage)
· Experience in different backup concepts (f. e. Business copy)
· Experience in Performance Management
· Very good understanding in SAN Technology and SAN environments
· Good understanding of high availability environments, at least trained in HP MC/ Service Guard
· Good understanding in Business Recovery solutions
· Very good Analytical problem-solving and root cause analysis skills. Ability to analyze problems with experts from other domains (Application, database, network, hardware). Good judgement about criticality / priority of all tasks.
· Servicing of the customer and technical documentation
· Handling of Licences Management
· Review of reporting and actions
· Security Management
· Good understanding of the concept of ITIL (Change management etc)
· Experience in project planning and hardware order reviews for environment evaluation, extension, consolidation
· Good Project management skills. Ability to coordinate tasks with several people, teams, departments;
Commitment to timelines and effort.
· Ability to negotiate with external customers, internal suppliers / departments.
· Ability to represent HP Managed Services in front of the customer and other HP internal departments
· Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems or equivalent experience
· UNIX Certified Engineer
· Service oriented behaviour and communication to internal and external contacts
· Work independently on high level goals
· Team player
· Awareness of knowledge level from 2ndlevel Unix team and assistance for their advanced education
· Commitment to total customer experience
