The role of Unix Administrator is to perform technical support of our customers` infrastructure, including trouble shooting, planning, implementation and managing the complex Unix environment. HP is looking for the highly motivated and Customer oriented agent who will be focused on continuous operations improvement plans within the ongoing delivery, but also on Customer specific projects and change management of the Windows operating systems of several Customer severs. The main goal is to minimize the amount of unplanned downtimes in the customer's production environment and to achieve a high level of customer satisfaction as well as deliver the project work on time and in efficient way. On top of mentioned there will be challenging project work on Customer related project within the huge consolidation programs.
He/she will work in close relationship with the Deep technical support team and project leaders who will coordinate all the actions for the Customer.
Main responsibilities are: * to work on complex incidents, * identify and help to solve problems, * independent work on the technical projects * execute work orders according the instructions * min. 2 years of engineering and operational experience with Unix operating system installation, administration one of these: HPUX, Solaris, AIX, Linux * Practical experience with management of HA-Clusters (HP Serviceguard, IBM HACMP, Veritas Cluster). * Good working experience with Storage Technologies such as SAN, NAS/NetApps, Hitachi, EMC * Experience in managing storage on operating system level with a volume-manager. * Exposure to IBM Tivoli TSM Backup, setup and support. * Basic knowledge of Databases (ORACLE, DB2, others) is an advantage * Working experience in Enterprise environment or Datacenters will be advantageous. * Good understanding of high availability environments a plus * Good Project management skills; Ability to coordinate tasks with several people, teams, departments; Commitment to timelines and effort * Good cross-cultural team player. Used to working in international environment, with numerous servers, Experience in an international environment is an advantage * Ability to understand and explain technical concepts to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences * Aptitude to learn new tools and technologies very quickly and adapt to changing project deliverables * Fluent English
