Description
As a UNIX Systems Administrator, Technical Lead, you will provide Linux server support for the engineering groups at Altera. You will: · Plan, design, and manage the deployment of high available systems supporting the Engineering infrastructure · Deployment and support High performance Computing environment (LSF/SGE/Condor/Linux/Windows XP) · Automate routine tasks through scripting · Work with team members to support other engineering related issues · Willing to participate in a pager rotation to support the engineering global infrastructure 24x7
Qualifications include: · BS / MS Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years experience on Redhat enterprise Linux · Thorough knowledge of Linux (CentOS, and/or Redhat) architecture, deployment, administration, performance monitoring/tuning, troubleshooting and production operations · Experience using scripting languages for task automation (Perl, Python, Unix Shell, etc.) · Working knowledge and troubleshooting skills for NAS storage (Preferably NetApps) · Strong troubleshooting skills · Ability to generate solutions and define problems by analyzing technical issues · Excellent oral and written communication skills · Knowledge and experience of setting-up and managing LSF/SGE/Condor based compute-farm (grid computing) environment would be beneficial
