Job Description UNIX systems administrator {AIX /SUN operating systems} with strong AIX operating system skills, including HACMP technology and administration. Knowledge of SAN storage management a plus. BS degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and at 5-7, years of experience in UNIX systems operations and administration, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Hardware platform experience in IBM pSeries, including Power 5 and Power 6, running AIX 5.x/6.x.
Installation, configuration and maintenance of AIX UNIX operating systems and associated component/tools. Looking for expertise in AIX OS, with strong knowledge and practice in HACMP clustering, network configurations, partition and virtualization technology. Experience with VIOS, HMC, MPIO, NPIV, Virtualization and partition mobility. Linux knowledge desirable.
Problem determination and resolution. Ability in installing, upgrading, removing, verifying system and program product patches. Excellent communication skills and documentation. Needs to have strong knowledge and practice on SAN, EMC, XIV, etc. Needs to have strong skills in Disaster Recovery procedures and practices as well as Unix security. Needs to be experienced in performance tuning, analysis and benchmarking. Strong shell scripting skills a real plus.
