UNIX Systems Administrator
Administer all UNIX/Linux based systems and their daily system tasks. Assist in managing over 70Tb of storage using Sun and Veritas Products. Management includes Apache, iplanet/Sun One, Jboss and Tomcat. Set-up hardware and software; including Sun and Linux products. Team up with senior system engineers to ensure proper monitoring and data backup using Veritas Netbackup. Maintain systems in order to maximize availability and security.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree or equivalent plus 2 years of related experience required. System/Application Knowledge required: UNIX/Linux, Veritas Netbackup, Web Servers, System Patching and general administration. Desire to learn and take direction from senior level engineers, managers, and government customer.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent plus 6 years Enterprise level IT experience. Sun Fire 15k series server, Sun StorEdge 6320 disk array system and Sun/Hitachi StorEdge 9990, Oracle/SQL server is a plus.
