Versatile Technologist 3 System Administrator
Provide IT system support which consists of no less than 4 separate classified and 2 unclassified mixed operating system developer networks spread across multiple sites. A complex AV network routes audio and video via fiber around the local facility and via IP to other sites.
Performs a broad range of systems and applications support activities. Analyzes computing requirements. Consults and leads activities to meet system needs. Candidate will interface with the Hardware Software Integration group of BDS, Phantom Works, Strategic Development and Experimentation organization. Workstation and Server support in lab and production facilities, not necessarily Boeing Standard images, supporting Windows, Solaris, and Linux environments. Evaluate software and hardware to meet program requirements and ensures system conforms with architectural objectives. Leads activities to define, apply, and integrate security solutions into information systems. Performs asset management to meet enterprise and program standards. Installation, support, and maintenance of audio visual, multimedia systems, and multicast studio environment system equipment. Travel will be required between remote sites. Good communication skills are mandatory to interface with Boeing, Government, and installation and service personnel. Candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision and be able to independently resolve hardware, software, or systems issues. Ability to deal with complex computing/audio visual discipline in a mixed Boeing and non-Boeing environment. Requires knowledge of infrastructure support in lab or other non-Enterprise environments. A detailed understanding of Windows OS and Linux is required. In depth knowledge of audio visual/presentation systems desired. Good understanding with operating and maintaining audio visual equipment, including the following: Advanced visualization systems Tactical/clear communications platforms GUI touch screens Boeing enterprise VTC equipment Engineering/technical advanced computing platforms NAS/SAN devices Video compression and streaming equipment.

Do you have any experience with the design and implementation of Windows 2008 server?
Typical Education/Experience
Technical bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' or a PhD degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.
Other Job related information
Candidate must have a current Top Secret Clearance. The successful candidate will possess a record of very high performance. Significant IT systems development and maintenance experience will enable a candidate to successfully function in this assignment. Strong writing & analytical skills and business acumen are necessary, as well as effective people, customer, and presentation skills. Candidates must have a high level of passion, enthusiasm, and demonstration of strong leadership attributes. Prefer advanced degree in computing science, Information Systems, or other technical discipline.
