Lync Sales Solution Professional

As a Lync Solution Specialist (SSP) you will evangelize the business value of the Microsoft Unified Communications and Collaboration products, partners and services and drive net new sales and enterprise deployments of Lync – with an emphasis on the voice workload. You will partner with pre-sales technical experts (Voice Technology Specialists) as well as with extended Solution Specialists and Account Teams to identify sales opportunities and develop multi-faceted strategies leveraging our Productivity solutions.
Your job responsibilities will include:
- Developing a healthy Lync pipeline of qualified opportunities – including whitespace analysis.
- Identifying Lync compete gaps within targeted accounts and the ways in which Microsoft can dislodge the competition or augment the share of Microsoft technologies within accounts.
- Researching targeted accounts’ total voice technology spend and driving a strategy that gives Microsoft a significant percentage of that spend.
- Creating and maintaining solution opportunity generation plans that contribute to Account Planning efforts within the ATU (Account Team Unit) and STU (Specialist Team Unit).
- Exhibiting outstanding operational excellence – including monthly/quarterly forecasting, CRM entry and hygiene, opportunity management and virtual team orchestration.
- Ensuring hand-offs to and engagements with the appropriate resources (within the ATU or STU, MTC, Partners and/or Services) at the appropriate phase of the MSSP, with measures in place to track the total cost-of-sale and deal velocity.
- Bringing customers to agreement on the business value of proven solutions – including detailed financial analysis such as Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Return on Investment (ROI).
- Positioning the value of Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) Voice solutions – both from a technical as well as from a business perspective – to senior levels of leadership within our target accounts.
- Closing deals by reinforcing the business value of solutions and acting as an interface between customers and partners/Services.
Successful Lync SSP’s have great leadership skills, strong passion for driving business, great communication and consultative selling skills, exhibit outstanding collaboration skills, are sincerely customer focused, and deal well with ambiguity. They possess excellent presentation skills as well as in-depth technical and business value knowledge of Microsoft and competitive technologies. Candidates should possess an excellent understanding of the unified communications and collaboration marketplace along with the offerings of the key competitors. Candidates with demonstrated expertise in major Voice, Data & Video technologies are also encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of related experience. In addition the ideal candidate must have a deep understanding of many/most of these focus areas: Voice and Data Platforms (TDM PBX & IP-PBX, Video MCU) Voice and Data Networks (PSTN, Wireless, IP) , UC & C Applications (Voice Call Control, Audio/Video/ Web Conferencing, IM/Presence, CDR, E-911, Voice/Fax and Unified Messaging) Enterprise Interaction Management (EIM), Work Force Management, Sales Automation, Contact Centers (ACD, IVR, CRM), Application Integration Services ( TAPI, TSAPI, JTAPI, CSTA). Knowledge of SS7, GRR303, H.320, H.323 and SIP protocols. Knowledge of TCP/IP networking, switches, routers and firewalls
