Provide Network Engineering , Design, Architecture and Tier IV escalation support for a
large scale network in a dynamic environment. The Architect will be responsible for the design,
implementation, and support of the wide area network with 30,000+ users and more than 600 remote sites. In
addition to that, this person will be responsible for gathering requirements from various groups and building
designs with processes to implement them. Other duties include providing day to day operations support as
needed for wide and local are network and acting as a forth level escalation working directly with vendors.
Should provide status on new and current issues to management and conduct necessary training sessions to
other staff member when deploying new technologies. The architect will be responsible for writing design,
implementation and test plans along with Visio layouts. Other responsibilities include working with other
Federal agencies providing secure connectivity, BGP peering, supporting disaster recovery plans and
processes. Should be able to lead a team and provide escalation support when required.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education
: Seven years experience working with high end Cisco routers andswitches. Extensive knowledge with Cisco IOS in the following technologies: BGP, EIGRP, QoS, Multicast,
MPLS, SNMP, VPN, proxy, WCCP, Security, Wireless, and VoIP. Experience working in an environment
with integration to other vendors including Juniper, Avaya, and Bluecoat. Supporting Cisco ISR and ISR2
routers including 2800/3800/2900/3900 as well as Cisco switches including 35/45/6500 series hardware.
Working knowledge of Cisco ASA desired. Expert level documentation skills required including writing
design, implementation and test plans along with Visio layouts.
