POSITION SUMMARY
The Web Application and Services Developer, will lead development effort in various Enterprise IT Projects ensuring high quality and timely deliverable according to project requirements and specifications. The successful candidate will be part of project team delivering solutions for RIM internal and customer facing applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include: * Working closely with System Analyst, Business System Analyst and Solution Architects to develop solutions that will meet business requirements and can be implemented in timely manner * Being a primary development resource for assigned projects * Developing required Web Application of Service * Creating, building and deploying scripts and procedures * Implementing and documenting unit testing * Ensuring adherence to RIM coding, branding and software security standards * Providing feedback to design and solution documents * Using and recommending Java-based technologies and frameworks that would best suit the functional requirements * Following the IT guidelines (version control, coding standards, best practices) and recommending improvements to these guidelines * Working with the Project Manager to ensure accurate assessments and updates to project schedule ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS * Post secondary education in Information Technology, or equivalent * More than 15 years experience in Information Technology * 10 years progressive experience in Java EE software design * Proven record in Services Oriented Architecture implementations * Hands-on experience with databases and directories (specifically Oracle and LDAP) * Proven system and application OO design skills in a Web-based Java EE environment * Extensive knowledge and experience with Enterprise Java technologies (Servlets/JSP, JSF, Struts, AJAX, EJB, Web Services, Portlets) * Extensive experience with Web Service Development and Integration (Axis framework, Security and Authentication, Compatibility issues etc.) * Excellent interpersonal and organization skills * Strong communication skills * Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills ADDITIONAL ASSETS * Graduate education in Information Technology or equivalent * Familiarity with the SAP suite of technologies * Familiarity with BMC/Remedy product * Familiarity with Portal technologies * Familiarity with Web 2.0 concepts * Familiarity with JBoss suite of products (Application Server, Portal, ESB) * Familiarity with BEA suite of products (Application Server, Portal, BPM, ESB) If you're driven to take wireless technologies to the next level, it's time you join the team at RIM.
