Web Application Developer SUMMARY Sharp Innovations, Inc. of Lancaster, PA is seeking a full-time, contract Web Application Developer to create custom functionality for our customers Websites. The ideal candidate will be comfortable doing object-oriented programming (OOP) in PHP and will have experience working in the MVC architecture. We are seeking a person who will be able to work full-time out of our Lancaster, PA office for a period of 3 to 4 months, initially, with the possibility of permanent, full-time employment (pending project load, candidate performance, etc.). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Key responsibilities may include: Web application development Web application testing and de-bugging Web application integration and interaction with designers Project-related interaction with clients, as required Various other programming related projects as appointed by management QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: PHP/MySQL knowledge and experience MVC architecture knowledge and experience CSS/HTML knowledge and experience Basic understanding of Linux, including the ability to navigate using the command line, ability to copy/move/delete files, change permissions on files/directories, use commands like find, grep, tail, vim, etc. Some related Web company, IT or school experience Pursuing or have earned a degree in programming, Web development or related field Personable and able to adapt easily to new situations and environments Comfortable working directly with clients and meeting with clients, as required Self-starting and able to operate independent of direct supervision The ideal candidate may also possess any of these secondary skills: Flash animation knowledge (not required) Search Engine Optimization (SEO) understanding or experience (not required) COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The contract Web Application Developer candidate will be paid on an hourly basis, at a rate to be determined.
