core duties/Responsibilities
· Ensure consistent application of online content strategy based on business objectives and user needs · Establish and enforce guidelines for the editorial tone, style, and voice of all content · Develop/ oversee/participate/guide in the development of all web content · Define and maintain an ongoing editorial calendar for and related web properties · Participate in/represent the organization in a broad spectrum of corporate engagements to help define message and direction · Provide guidance to develop overall content requirements and potential content sources for individual projects · Develop innovative solutions for content presentation · Work with development team to influence taxonomies and metadata frameworks to optimally display and content and messaging · Work with business owners to enhance, edit, and reformat both new and legacy content · Ensure content conforms to Search Engine Optimization best practices · Develop naming conventions, instructional copy, and other interface textual elements · Establish and maintain a style guide and editorial procedures for all written elements of the site Required Skills/experience · Thorough understanding of how to communicate effectively in a digital environment · Demonstrated success as writer/journalist and editor · Experience with content management systems, digital asset management, databases, and SEO best practices · Expert level attention to detail · Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills · Experience in client services and negotiating business decisions · High tolerance for ambiguity matched only by your desire to organize it · Willingness and ability to travel · 10+ years experience in creating/writing content for Web or other digital media · Degree in related field, such as English, journalism, technical writing, or library science · Previous experience in professional print, digital, or broadcast media · Advanced proficiency in the MS Office Suite, and working knowledge of design tools such as Visio and InDesign
