Web Production Operations Engineer
The Web Production Operations Engineer is responsible for the installation, upgrades and support of all production applications hosted by this Software as a Service based company. Work involves the installation and management of the applications, advanced application debugging, patch and upgrade management and server administration. Summary of essential job functions: * Deploy and manage all applications and third party software in hosted environments* Ensure timely installation of operating system and application upgrades* Maintain all supporting components such as monitoring, alarming and performance analysis systems* Conduct performance analysis on the applications* Report defects found in Staging and Production to QA and Development teams* Work closely with these teams to ensure timely resolution of these issues* Create detailed implementation plans and Method of Procedure documentation to be followed as part of the company's change control policy* Perform system administration tasks on all application platforms in the hosted Application Services Platform (ASP)* Provide after hours support to issues as they ariseThe following skills, knowledge and experience are required for this position unless noted otherwise: * BSEE/BSCS or equivalent degree* Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production application environment * Microsoft and RedHat experience is preferred* Prior experience with Java application support is preferred* Experience with SwiftMQ JMS, WebLogic, Crystal Reports, and ILog is a plus* Ability to quickly isolate hardware and software issues and drive these issues to resolution* Extensive experience with real time transaction processing and web applications* Ability to perform engineering tasks using industry best practices and work both independently and as a lead contributor to a team
