This development role is supporting the Web services application; part of Sales applications team responsible for the development and operation of all direct and indirect new customer acquisition platforms at DISH. Selected candidate will play a leading role in the expansion of our APIs and services, developing new features and launching new partners. The success of this Web services expansion effort is a high priority within the organization and this position will have a major influence on the overall success of the program.
A good candidate will have a solid understanding of Java standards and best practices relevant to Web services. And will have the required expertise to lead the design and development of a scalable and secure framework. Lastly and more important than the rest a candidate should be self motivated, creative, able to work at a fast pace while maintaining quality, and be able to change direction upon short notice.
- Web services development using various technologies to get the best possible solution to fit various problem domains.
- Application maintenance and new design implementation using the JAVA and Java EE technology stack.
- A good understanding and willingness to grow in OO principles and design.
- Occasional Production support duties that include resolving partner issues, these duties require some UNIX knowledge.
- Web service maintenance using JAX-WS, Axis, SOAP, WSDL and XSD.
- Experience in or with test driven development using JMOCK, JUnit4, and Hamcrest assertions.
- Other technologies used and preferred include Guice, Cobertura, Maven, JPA, Hibernate, Weblogic and Tomcat.
- Must know basic database execution and navigation in Oracle.
B.S. in Computer Science or a related field; or two years education and two or more years of enterprise experience. At least 3 years of software development experience.
