Overview:

Under general direction, independently develops, modifies, and implements moderately to highly complex information systems that are thorough and accurate and conform to MST standards. Translates customer requirements, recommending system solutions and formulating detailed specifications from which programs are written. Independently researches and resolves more complex technical problems. A top level technical contributor in one or more highly specialized phases of application system analysis and programming with strong business application knowledge. May serve as primary system support for two or more complex information systems based on in-depth system knowledge. May serve in the MST Solutions Framework roles of Development Lead, Project Manager, Testing Advocate, or Operations Advocate.

Key Accountabilities:

Position is for an enterprise Websphere and deploy administrator. Responsibilities include WAS configuration/setup, security, creating code builds/workflow via automated tools and scripts, application recycles, deploys to pre-production and production environments, monitoring, troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Experience with Anthill Pro workflow automation, scripting, Clearcase source code management or similar experience required. Position requires participation on a rotational on-call basis. Position is located in Johns Creek.

  • The WebSphere Administrator will administer an enterprise WebSphere infrastructure.
  • Configure, engineer and maintain WebSphere application servers and WebSphere stand-alone servers
  • Continually monitor and tune application infrastructure to assure optimal performance, availability and utilization of resources
  • Participate as a key part of a team to accomplish various assignments requested.
  • Respond to monitoring alerts to quickly identify trouble source and implement resolution to avoid or reduce duration of an outage.
  • Provide support and trouble-shooting to resolve issues impacting application operations.
  • Provide technical solutions to automate processes or functions to improve business operations.
  • Develop and continually refine recovery procedures for errors impacting application operations.
  • Administer and enforce IT standards and processes.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Should be able to write basic scripts and monitoring scripts on UNIX environments
  • Individual should possess strong attention to detail where the highest quality of performance is a constant focus.
  • A strong ability to work as a contributing team member is a must.
  • Ability to support the environments on a 24/7 basis with rotational On call.
  • Strong analytical skills, strong trouble shooting skills, organized and detail oriented; self directed excellent teamwork ability
  • High standards of quality and integrity.
  • Ensures deadlines are met by effectively planning, organizing and prioritizing
  • Keeps management, business partners and team members informed on a timely basis of business issues, project progress, status and/or concerns for assignments
  • Forms effective partnerships across functional lines within MST and the user community
  • Facilitates teamwork by encouraging communication, resolving conflict, and demonstrating support in the team's ability
  • Makes sound decisions in a timely manner and assumes responsibility for these decisions
  • Demonstrates appropriate functional knowledge and skills relevant to operational area
  • Responsible for the successful execution of multiple/concurrent project life cycles, including resolution of major issues during all phases, planning and execution of installation, and management of user expectations
  • Instills confidence in the customer through effective, frequent communication and proven project results
  • Oversees and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Ensures effectiveness of documentation and on-going support for systems and/or processes as appropriate
