Start Date: April 2012 End Date: March 2015
Reporting directly to the Service Delivery Manager and indirectly to the Director of Infrastructure, the Windows Server Systems Analyst will provide daily support for the Windows Server operating environment and the hardware and storage platforms. Working closely with the Server Team the Windows Server Systems Analyst will assist in daily operational problem resolution and support, research into evolving technologies, testing and implementation.
The Windows Server Systems Analyst will also be responsible for assisting in setting up environments for any future client/server applications for the department, and be responsible for the daily operations of those systems.
Responsibilities may include: * performing server hardware and software installations; surplus activities * troubleshooting problems reported with hardware and software * participate as a team member on projects related to Windows Servers and the storage environments * assist in data tape duplication and offsite storage tasks * assist in maintenance activities on the test LAN * handling computer hardware up to 50 pounds * must be available to work some outside core hours (after 4:30pm and on the weekends and holidays) if necessary * software installation * adhere to existing established policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and practices. * Assist with operational and client requests. * Maintain required documentation
Mandatory Requirements: * Experience as a Windows Server Systems Administrator in a client/server environment. * Experience with server hardware installation and maintenance. * Familiarity with Active Directory concepts such as group policies, groups, users, authentication, replication, security permissions, etc. * Familiarity with Windows Performance Basics, e.g. memory, processor utilization, network, disk I/O, etc. * Experience with data backup and recovery applications * Experience with Windows Exchange 2003, 2007 or 2010
Desirable Requirements: * Experience with HP servers, storage hardware and related management software. * Experience with management of Storage Area Networks (SANs). * Experience with E-mail and File archive solutions * Experience with TMG / UAG / ISA Gateways * Experience with Remote Access solutions such as Citrix, or Microsoft desktop or terminal servers. * Experience with Server virtualization * Experience with MOM / SCOM * Experience with Mobile device setup and support * A minimum of 4 years combined related experience and education as stated below. Additional education and/or experience is preferred. * Combined education and experience: * A related University degree; or * A related two year diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution and 2 years experience; or * A related one year certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution and 3 years experience.
